Local Area Partnerships and Tasking Teams

Local Area Partnerships

What are they?

  • They meet six times a year.
  • Are attended by local residents, councillors, council officers and others who serve your community such as police, health, tenants and community groups.
  • Each Area Partnership is supported by an area manager.

They aim to:

  • Give you a chance to make a difference in your community.
  • Address issues of concern to local people.
  • Link local services with local people.
  • Develop Local Action Plans for the area and monitor delivery of those plans.

Local Area Tasking Teams

What are they?

  • They meet every six weeks - more or less the same as the LAPS.
  • They are chaired by the LAP managers and the Local Police Inspector.
  • They respond to issues raised by members of the public solely which concern community safety.
  • In attendance are members of the public (for part of the meeting), and police, health, tenants and community groups.
